Five Must-Attend Healthcare IT (HIT) Events

Supporting, attending and contributing to thought leadership at key industry events and conferences is one of the ways in which we at NaviNet engage and connect with physicians, health plans, and partners. Here are some of the events that we are looking forward to in the next year:

Health 2.0 Annual Conference: September 25-27, 2011. This event showcases cutting-edge technologies for improving healthcare and offers more than 100 live demos, presentations and panel discussions. Founded by Matthew Holt and Indu Subaiya, Health 2.0 brings together the healthcare innovation community to discuss the latest trends and opportunities in mobile, cloud and web technologies. Read about the most important takeaways from this year's event in this recap.

MGMA 11 Vegas Annual Conference: October 23- 26, 2011. The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) conference offers a wide range of expert speakers, educational opportunities and networking events. MGMA serves 22,500 members in medical practice management and strives to improve the performance of medical group practice professionals and the organizations they represent. This year, NaviNet's David Kates and Leonard Sukienik, DO, will be speaking on the Healthcare Innovations Panel. Their session is "We've Got an App for That: Using Mobile Technology to Improve Care Management and Drug Adherence" which will take place on October 24 at 11:45 a.m. We also will be sharing the latest news from NaviNet at booth #317 and participating in key industry discussions on the show floor.

HIMSS12: February 20-24, 2012. This leading event hosted by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) is a critical gathering for all healthcare stakeholders. This annual conference and exhibition tackles multiple issues facing our industry, from interoperability, accountable care organizations (ACOs), and mobile health, to increased patient engagement and empowerment. HIMSS is a marquee event that showcases the latest in healthcare IT, highlights key initiatives by leading healthcare organizations and draws more than 30,000 healthcare professionals. The HIMSS team has ramped up its networking resources for attendees by expanding the Social Media Center. Attendees now have various ways of making meaningful industry connections -- face-to-face and through Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. Biz Stone, co-founder of Twitter, is slated to take the stage for the keynote speech.

ANI: The Healthcare Finance Conference: June 24-27, 2012. The Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) sponsors numerous educational opportunities to help healthcare professionals implement strategies for improving financial performance and efficiency. We bumped into Jennifer Dennard of Billians HealthDATA at last year's conference and discussed how our NaviNet PM (practice management) solution can help providers understand patient financial responsibility at the point of care. Health Data Initiative Forum: TBD in 2012. Under the leadership of the Institute of Medicine and the Department for Health and Human Services (HHS), entrepreneurs and innovators convene to showcase revolutionary healthcare initiatives and technologies at the Health Data Initiative Forum. At the 2011 conference, we were excited to learn more about what Todd Park, HHS CTO and "Entrepreneur in Residence," is doing to promote innovation and secure data sharing in healthcare. For the latest resources from the HHS visit HealthIT.gov, a new website dedicated to educating healthcare consumers and stakeholders on health IT.
