Day 1 at AHIP Institute 2015
Now that AHIP Institute 2015 is in full swing, let the sessions begin! I will be there to get a front-row breakfast table today to see Jay Eisenstock, Senior Director, Provider eSolutions, Aetna, and others for the “Collaborating to Take Costs Out of the Business of Healthcare” panel. They will share real-life examples of collaborative projects that are advancing the efficiency of their own operations, improving provider relations, and reducing healthcare system costs.
Then, it will be off to see the Welcome from Bill Gracey, President and Chief Executive Officer, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, and Susan Dentzer, Senior Policy Adviser, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; On-Air Policy Analyst, PBS NewsHour. Following that, David Holmberg, President and Chief Executive Officer, Highmark Health, one of our customer-owner-partners, will be a speaker for the opening general session “Making Health Care Work Better.” Watch our Twitter feed for his advice @NaviNet.
When I attended the Blue National Summit in April, people were raving about Elizabeth Holmes, Founder and CEO of Theranos. So happy I can catch her at AHIP Institute after meeting up with friends and partner Informatica. It will be interesting to hear updates from Karen DeSalvo, MD, MPH, MSc, Acting Assistant Secretary of Health, and National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, U.S. Department of Health and Human Service.
Time to go deep into the power of data with Somesh Nigam, Chief Informatics Officer, Independence Blue Cross, another esteemed customer-partner-owner at “Leadership Growth: Data Analytics, Dashboards and Decisions.” Think about predictive analytics the next time you say, “What are my chances of X?”
Do you want to know what the golden bullet is affecting change and improving health outcomes and patient care? Check out @NaviNet on Twitter when I attend “Beyond the Contract: Enhancing Provider Engagement in New Care Models” at 2:00 p.m. CT. Amy Fahrenkopf, MD, Vice President, Market Transformation, Highmark, Inc., is a panelist I can’t wait to hear. Austin Ifedirah, DDS, MBA, SVP & Chief Business Development Officer, Gateway Health (a customer-partner!), is a panelist on “Driving Transformation and Fostering Innovation in Medicare Advantage.” Just hearing “Medicare Advantage” puts a spring in my step.
